A single post on McDonald’s corporate Twitter account created some excitement Thursday morning, stigmatizing President Trump and calling for Barack Obama’s reappearance. The tweet was just up for around 20 minutes — however, in that time, it was viewed, favorited and retweeted in more than two thousand instances.
“You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back,” the tweet claimed as it stood at the highest point of the McDonald’s twitter page for a brief moment. It closed with, “also you have tiny hands.”
First reports trying to get McDonald’s input on the whole situation wasn’t promptly replied; over an hour after the occurrence, the organization said that its official Twitter account “was compromised” without giving more information on what exactly happened.
Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.

The questionable tweet was posted at 9:16 A.M. ET, and it rapidly attracted a huge range of responses. Some questioned was this an open attack of a hacker or was it, in fact, a disgruntled employee looking to lash out.
Usually, the official McDonald’s Twitter account is used for promoting content from their outlets as well as informing their business investors about next move which this company will take. However, this Tweet inspired some hilarious and some emotional responses.
One of the most popular tweets stated: “I assume somebody decided to quit their social media job in style.”
Some claimed jokingly that it was a deed of McDonald’s Cartoon character – the Hamburglar.
In another note, it caused quite a stir for Trump supporters in a sense that the whole thing got escalated to a hashtag of its own – #BoycottMcDonalds.
What is your take on this? Is it a hacker, disgruntled employee or completely another thing?
